The verification report

The report records what was observed during the verification. Its value lies in the fact that whoever signs it has no stake in what it says.

What the file contains

Every verification leaves three documents in the unit’s records: the request, the results sheet and the report. They record the concession title, the holder’s details, the brand, model and serial number of the instrument, and its location in UTM coordinates. ¹

Where it is filed

The report does not stay in a drawer. The unit files it in CONAGUA’s electronic reports system, signed with its electronic signature, within 10 business days of the procedure. Only units listed in the Register of Verification Units have access to that system. ¹

Why the unit’s number matters

So that measurement data reaches CONAGUA correctly, the authority assigns a number to each accredited and approved Verification Unit under clause 10.8 of the standard. NEOMETRIC MEXICANA’s is 017, and it appears on every report it issues. That number lets anyone trace who ruled. ¹

What happens if the outcome is unfavourable

The report records the non-compliance and states the exact requirement that is not met. Once corrected, an extraordinary inspection attests conformity. An unfavourable report is not the end of the process: it is the list of what is missing.

How to check it is genuine

By cross-checking the unit’s number and its validity in CONAGUA’s public directory of approved units. A report signed by a unit whose approval was suspended on the day of the verification covers nothing.
